Savings Account Q.
What is the difference between current balance and available
balance? A. Current balance is the balance in your account immediately after the last time the bank posted transactions to your account. Available balance may be different from your current balance and reflects certain transactions to your account since the last posting. For example, a cash deposit would increase your available balance and a cash withdrawal would decrease your available balance. Some of the transactions that affect available balance are cash deposits and withdrawals, transfers, and automatic (ACH) deposits and drafts. Q. How
do I view older transactions? A. Using the drop-down menu labeled "Show Transactions," you may choose "Since Last Statement" or "Prior History." The Since Last Statement option lists the transactions that have occurred since your most recent statement was prepared. Select Prior History and click View to see the transactions that appeared on the two previous monthly statements for this account. Q.
How do I search for a specific transaction? A. The Filter Transactions section, located beneath the list of your transactions, allows you to search for specific transactions by date range. Simply enter the dates for which you wish to search, and click View to display the results. Q.
How do I view details for another account? A. Use the Choose Account drop-down menu in the upper right to select another of your accounts. Then click View to display the details for that account. Q.
How do I inquire about a specific transaction? A. To inquire about a transaction, click on the Messages button at the top of the page. This will allow you to send a secure, encrypted message directly to online banking Customer Services. Remember, ordinary internet e-mail is not secure, so if you choose to send us a message through your e-mail program rather than through online banking, please do not include any sensitive information such as your account number or social security number. Q.
What is the Running Balance column? A. This column displays a running balance for your account, which allows you to see the impact of each individual transaction on your account balance. Some customers find this helpful when reconciling their paper records to their online account detail. Q. Why
does the Running Balance column disappear? A. Since this column displays a running balance, it will disappear if you sort your transactions by clicking any of the underlined column headers. The running balance will only appear if transactions are listed in the default view - the order in which they were processed. Q.
How can I sort the transactions? A. You can sort the transactions by clicking on any of the column headers. For example, if you wish to see all the deposits and other credits to your account grouped together at the beginning of the list, click on the word "Credit" at the top of that column. The default setting is to display transactions in the order in which they were processed, with older transactions at the top of the list. Q. Why
are there no transactions? A. If you are viewing transactions since your last statement (the default view), you will not see any transactions if none have posted since your last statement was prepared. In that case, use the drop-down box to view Prior History or use the Filter Transactions section to search for specific transactions. Choosing Prior History will display transactions from your last two statements. Prior History will be blank if there were no transactions on your account during that two-month period. If your search results show no transactions, it means that no posted transactions fit in the date range you specified. Q.
What is included in Today's Credits and Today's Debits? A. Today's Credits include cash deposits, direct (ACH) deposits, and online and telephone transfers to your account since the last night's posting. Today's Debits include cash withdrawals, direct (ACH) debits, and online and telephone transfers from your account since the last night's posting. Q.
What is Download Transaction Data and why should I do it? A. The Download Transaction Data feature allows you to save transaction information as a file on your computer or on a disk. You can then import the file into your Quicken or Microsoft Money software. Clicking Download will save all the transactions displayed on the screen. If you wish to expand or narrow the list of transactions displayed, use the Filter Transactions feature before downloading. | ||
