Changing Your Password
Periodically, you may choose to, or the system may require you, to change your password. When you change your password, you will change your User Password, the value entered in the bottom-right field of the Login Page. Once you change your User Password, you should use that password until you change it again.

There are several places in the system from which you may change your password.

  1. The first time you login - The first time you successfully login, the system will require you to change your User Password. After you enter your codes and passwords correctly, you will be presented with the Change Password Page.
  2. The login page - To change your password from the Login Page, click on the "change password" text or image. You do not need to enter your codes and passwords on the Login Page if you are going to change your password. Once you click on the "change password" image, you will see the Change Password Page.
  3. The main work area - Prior to selecting any services, you may see a flashing message stating the number of days until your password expires. You may click on the yellow underlined "password" link to bring up the Change Password Page.
  4. When your password expires - You may let the system expire your User Password and prompt you for a new one. When your password expires, the system will allow you to login. It will notify you that you must change your password and prompt you to change it.
To change your user password:
  • On the Change Password Page, depending on the page from which you came, you may need to enter your current codes and passwords.
  • In the box labeled New password,  enter the new value you want to use as your new User Password.
  • In the field labeled Retype password, type the new value again.
  • Click the "login" or "submit" button.

Browser Information
The browser window is comprised of several areas:

  1. The browser's toolbars and menus - The Browser you use has its own sets of toolbars and menus. For more information on your Browser's features, please refer to its documentation or online Help.
  2. The header - The system uses a graphical header containing The Exchange Bank's logo and a navigation bar with links to several helpful services:
    • Bulletin messages - These are general notices that The Exchange Bank sends out to provide information such as notification of upcoming holidays. A flashing icon indicates that there are active bulletins. Clicking on the icon will display all active bulletins.
    • The bank contact list - The Exchange Bank maintains a list of contacts for your support and information needs. The list contains names, phone numbers, and email addresses, where applicable. If an e-mail address is provided, you may send a message by clicking on the blue underlined hyperlink.
    • This online help - You may display online help from any page within the system. When you are within a service, clicking on the "Help" icon will display information for that particular service.
    • The logout link - When you have completed your work on the system, click on the "Logout" link to end your session. When you logout of the system, you will be presented with the login page. At this point, you may close your browser or go to another site (if you are using the system through the Internet.)
  3. The service group list - All products to which you subscribe are listed in the service group list, a pull down menu on the left-hand side of the browser window, below The Exchange Bank's logo. Each line in the service group list contains the individual services (such as previous day report) associated with the group (such as balance reporting.) To use a service, highlight the service group to which it belongs, and click once. The menu bar to the right of the service group list will display the available services. Click the text or graphic image of the service that you want to use.
  4. The password expiration warning message - The Exchange Bank has defined a number of days for which your user password is valid. There is also a specifed a number of days prior to your password's expiration for which a warning message will be displayed. This text message, "your password expires in x days," is displayed to the right of the service group list, prior to your selection of any groups or services. In the message, the word "password" is a hypertext link to the Change Password page so that you may change your password prior to expiration, if you so desire.
  5. The work area - The large area below the service group list and the password expiration/menu bar is the work area. This area will contain the selection pages, transaction initiation pages, reports, and confirmation messages that you will use and encounter as you use the system.
