About Business Online Banking
What
is Business Online Banking?
Business Online Banking is The Exchange
Bank's latest option for allowing businesses to easily manage their accounts.
It uses the technology of the Internet and allows you to view account information,
transfer funds between accounts and perform other services online, such as stop
payments, ACH transfers, electronic payments of Federal and state taxes and wire
transfers. It uses state-of-the-art security combined with the simplicity of web
site navigation. Business Online Banking makes it easy to manage all aspects of
your business' financial well being.
How
easy is it to use?
It is very easy. You do not have to know a lot
about computers or be at your place of business to take care of your financial
needs. It is as easy as a click of a mouse for most of the services available.
What
do I need to use it?
All you need to use Business Online Banking is
a The Exchange Bank business checking account, a PC with an Internet connection
and a browser that is at least 128-bit encryption enabled.
How
do I sign up?
Currently, you must visit a branch or call a Customer
Service Representative at 1-843-355-6181. You will need to currently have a The
Exchange Bank business checking account in order to use Business Online Banking.
Is
there any cost?
The basic Business Online Banking module, which includes
balance and detail transaction reporting, book transfers and stop payments, has
a nominal monthly charge for up to three accounts. The ACH and wire transfer modules
each have an additional monthly fee. Please stop by your branch or call 1-843-355-6181
for more details.
After
I sign up, when can I begin using Business Online Banking?
Your welcome
kit will contain instructions on the modules you have selected and should arrive
within 5 - 7 days after sign-up. At that time, you can access Business Online
Banking. Please contact us at 1-843-355-6181 if you do not promptly receive your
welcome kit.
How
do I login to Business Online Banking the first time?
To access Business
Online Banking, you will need to know your Customer ID and Password as well as
your User ID and Password. This information is provided to you in the welcome
kit after sign-up. The welcome kit will provide instructions on how to connect
to Business Online Banking for the first time.
How
do I set up employees to access accounts?
Initially, you must designate
a Security Administrator who will then be responsible for setting up access for
other employees.
Can
I restrict my employees' access?
Yes. Your Security Administrator
controls the access at the service level: balance reporting, stop payments, book
transfers, etc.
What
accounts can I manage with Business Online Banking?
You will be able
to view online all of your business and personal checking, money market and savings
accounts as well as PayAnyDay loans and lines of credit. Depending upon the number
of accounts you choose to access, there may be additional charges.
From
which accounts can I transfer money?
You can make transfers from any
of your Exchange Bank checking, savings or money market accounts to your Exchange
Bank checking, savings, money market or PayAnyDay loan accounts and lines of credit.
You will have immediate access to your funds if you transfer between deposit accounts.
Transfers to your loan accounts will post to your accounts by the next business
day. You cannot transfer funds to a Mortgage account, Investor Services account
or Credit Card account. Also, you cannot advance funds from your credit accounts.
Can
I download transactions?
You can download your account information
using comma-delimited, IIF or BAI format.
About Using the Internet
What
is a browser?
A browser is the program that you use to view web pages
on the Internet. Common browsers are Microsoft® Internet Explorer, Netscape® Communicator
and AOL®.
What
browser and version do I need to use with Business Online Banking?
If
you are using Internet Explorer, you will need to have version 5.x or higher installed
on your computer.
If you are using Netscape® Communicator, you will need to have version 4.5 or higher installed on your computer.
If you are using AOL®, you will need to have version 5 or higer installed on your computer. Having AOL® version 5 installed does not guarantee that you will be able to access your account via Business Online Banking. If you experience problems, you will need to download/install the latest version of Internet Explorer.
How
do I find out what version I have?
When you first open your browser,
you will see a box open that will show you which version you are using. If your
browser window is already open, click Help/About (Internet Explorer or Netscape®
Communicator). A box will open showing you which version you are using.
How
do I download the proper browser version?
To download the latest versions
of Internet Explorer, Netscape® Communicator, or AOL®, simply click on the appropriate
image below. These images will direct you to the respective web sites where you
can download the latest browser version. Simply follow the instructions provided
on the screen. Warning -- The current browser download time runs around 2 hours
with a 33.6 / 56k Internet connection.
Click one of the icons to upgrade your browser.
What
is encryption?
Encryption is a process that scrambles the information
you send and receive through your browser. This protects your information as it
flows across the Internet and prevents people from seeing what you send and receive.
Business Online Banking allows you to use the strongest browser encryption available.
Do
I need 128-bit encryption for my browser?
Yes. 128-bit encryption
gives you the highest level of browser security provided and is required for Business
Online Banking.
How
do I get 128-bit encryption?
If you are using Internet Explorer, you
will need to click Help/About Internet Explorer. Once the box opens showing you
which version of browser you are using, click on the text link that reads '(Update
Information)'. A new browser window will open and you will be directed to the
Microsoft® site to download the 128-bit encryption patch. After you have downloaded
the patch, simply run the file and your browser will have the highest level of
security.
If you are using Netscape® Communicator, you will actually need to download another browser from the Netscape web site that has 128-encryption.
About Using Business Online Banking
Is
Business Online Banking just like any other web site?
No. Business
Online Banking uses frames to control the presentation of information and to provide
you with simple navigation. Each frame has a specific purpose. One frame contains
buttons for each major group of functions, another contains buttons for each specific
service available in Business Online Banking and another contains your account
information.
How
secure is my account information if I use the Internet?
The Exchange
Bank has installed and runs Secure Socket Layers, the standard security tool for
the Internet. All of your information and transactions are encrypted as they travel
over the network, ensuring that nobody will be able to intercept and interpret
your information. By requiring 128-bit encryption, this further protects your
confidential information during these secure sessions.
Can
I bookmark Business Online Banking for a quick look at my accounts?
If
you bookmark any page within Business Online Banking, you will be brought to the
The Exchange Bank homepage if you access it through that bookmark. For security
reasons we do not allow access to account information without confirmation of
login IDs and passwords each time.
What
do I do when I am finished with a Business Online Banking session?
Use
the Logout tab to safely end your session. This will log you out and prevent someone
from coming behind you and accessing your bank information.
